Since I've continued to patronize the Art of Entertaining, I need to update my review! Besides the box lunches, I've had opportunities to enjoy their cuisine in other ways. First, they make a great meal to go for people who are ill. I've had some friends and co-workers go through chemo and bringing them meals from here is easy and delicious! The casseroles and soups can be frozen or not and you can also get a prepared meal. They also have a deal for a "care package" where you can get several casseroles and soups for $40. The recipients have been very pleased! After having given birth recently, I also was the recipient of this and enjoyed what I received! I also just got brunch catered by them for Mother's day. It equaled out to about $13 per person and was a full meal with leftovers. We loved the whole thing and it was SO easy! Having a newborn, I wanted something simple at home but also yummy. It was so worth it. I plan on ordering again in the future for sure. Huge fan.

I see the polka dot jeep all over the place in Webster Groves. And I always drive by the large pink building and think "I should stop in there . . ." but I never have. It's hard to get out of the grocery store rut. Recently I did attend a meeting and the boxed lunch was delicious - beyond what your normally get in a boxed lunch. The beef on the sandwich was actual beef and not rubbery lunch meat, the salad was crisp, the brownie was delicious. When I asked where the food came from, I was told "Art of Entertaining!" Then on Sunday my dinner that was supposed to last two nights was disgusting. Looking at a Monday night with nothing to eat, I figured I'd stop in after work. They have a great special on Monday where you can grab two casseroles, salad, dessert, etc - a family dinner for 4 for $27 dollars. I didn't need that much food so I grabbed one entree for $13. I ran into a co-worker who told me she buys the entrees and splits them into 4 lunches to take to work. Ok, that is a great idea. We're looking at a little more than $3 per lunch. I will for sure be doing this in the future. The food we got was great and it fed both my husband and me with enough left over to be a pretty good lunch tomorrow. Not bad for $13. There were a number of pasta dishes so it's not exactly low-carb. Looking at their website they do offer a low-sodium option and a lighter side meal so it looks like there are healthier options available

I would probably give their food a 3.5 for most items, but we have had some 4's, and the convenience factor and value pushes it to a 4 overall for me! My favorite entrees so far: Tequila Pasta with chicken; Asian vermicelli noodle with Beef; and we had Valentine's Dinner special once which was very good. We look forward to trying more!

Such a cute shop full of yummy gourmet foods. I highly suggest this company to help with your catering needs from a small get together to thanksgiving dinner.

This update is based solely and only on the pot roast and potatoes dinner that I bought and nothing else, so with that said... I was disappointed with the pot roast and the potatoes. It had the meat, potatoes and baby carrots with gravy. The meat was not tender enough as if it had not been slow cooked over a long period of time like pot roast should be cooked. There wasn't enough gravy for the food. The baby carrots were overcooked almost to the point of mush after I reheated it. The potatoes were thoroughly cooked as they should be. I would have preferred mashed potatoes instead of quarter cut red potatoes, but the potatoes are a small issue. The previous time that I bought the pot roast and potatoes dinner, it was so much better than this last time I bought it. I was disappointed, but that doesn't mean that I'm not going to stop going there because this store is still a God send for me on the days I don't want to cook.

On the recommendation of a friend, my sister suggested we stop by here to pick up lunch and take home. As my sister is a 'girly' girl, I'm not surprised her friend made the rec: The Art of Entertaining is all about cuteness with it's black and pink exterior and matching insides. It may be adorable, but I wondered if its allure would be in fact skin deep. I wandered around the store and found plenty of healthy ready-to-serve options such as salads, soups, wraps and sandwiches. They also offer made-to-order counter service in addition to frozen entrees, catering and a bevy of desserts. My sister and I both ordered the chicken salad sandwich. For $8.95, you get a gourmet sandwich, a side (I chose a small salad) and a dessert. I loved the classically-prepared white meat chicken salad as well as my dessert (a lemon macaroon bar with toasted coconut). Really, a great buy for a fresh and fantastic lunch which we could barely finish. Also, the package is precious with your lunch all gussied up in its black bag and tied up in a purple bow. My niece absolutely loved her chocolate cupcake... it was all we could do to keep her from ravaging it in her car seat. Luckily, she waited to make a chocolate-y mess until we got home! 3 happy girls = success.

Great place to pick up appetizers to take to a party! Every time I have, the items have gotten rave reviews. They also have really good (yet pricey) chicken salad. We keep meaning to try their Monday night dinner options, but haven't gotten around to it, sounds like a great deal though! ($25 for 4-6 people)

I LOVE this place! It is so convenient, not only because it's right down the street from my house, but also because they have incredibly fresh, prepackaged food (I usually stop by before class and am in and out in 5 min) in addition to sandwiches, salads, and other items that you can order on the spot (talk to Majkin (pronounced Meegan)...she'll probably be at the counter, and she's the best). Their egg salad is delicious, and not too creamy, for the health conscious diner. And the veggie sandwich has an extra special addition in their dill spread, which is the best that I've ever had (Straub's is good, this is better). You can buy a container of dill dip for veggies, chips, etc at your next party, or you can eat it all by yourself, which I do 99.9% of the time. And you can buy salad dressings by the jar as well. I always buy the ranch, though I've seen several people come in just for the poppyseed, which is sweet, and I ran into one of my co-workers randomly buying the balsamic. SOUP FOR YOU! If you love soup, this is the place to go! They sell several fresh soups daily, in the refrigerated case, as well as several that are frozen. They come in 2 sizes, which I'm pretty sure are 16 oz, and 32 oz. I'm partial to the artichoke bisque, a cream-based soup with fresh artichokes and onions, and the potato cheese soup, with big chunks of potatoes. Be careful if you're vegetarian though, because this comes in 2 versions, one with bacon (loaded potato cheese), and one without. And if you're watching your weight, or you're gluten free, they have THE MOST FLAVORFUL vegetable soup that I have ever had. It looks basic, but don't let its appearance full you.
